NanoH₂O is awarded NSF Standard 61 Certification

Los Angeles, Calif. – June 7, 2011 – NanoH₂O, Inc., manufacturer of the next generation of reverse osmosis (RO) membrane technology, is proud to announce that its flagship product has received NSF Standard 61 Certification. This certification attests to the safety and viability of QuantumFlux membrane modules when used in the production of drinking water.

NanoH₂O utilizes advanced nanotechnology to increase membrane permeability by 50-100% over conventional membranes, while matching best-in-class salt rejection. Greater permeability translates to increased membrane productivity, decreasing energy consumption which is the major cost of desalination. QuantumFlux membrane modules are produced at NanoH₂O’s Los Angeles-based manufacturing facility and are available in an 8-inch diameter spiral-wound configuration that fits into industry-standard pressure vessels.

NSF International is a leading global organization that provides standards development, product certification, auditing, education and risk management for public health and safety. NSF Standard 61 sets criteria for the testing and evaluation of products that come into contact with drinking water to ensure they do not leach contaminants into the water. These contaminants include those regulated by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and Health Canada, as well as any other non-regulated compounds that may be of concern.
