LG Chem would like to announce the availability of a new anti-fouling and energy-saving reverse osmosis (RO) membrane element in their NanoH2OTM brackish water product line. The new model, part number BW 400 ES L, uses the same proven energy-saving ES membrane offered by LG Chem but now incorporates an innovative feed spacer technology for reducing differential pressure.
The novel feed spacer design, with 34-mil thickness, minimizes flow disturbance and pressure losses without increasing concentration polarization. Tests have shown that the BW 400 ES L element has up to 45% reduction in differential pressure at typical flow rates compared to RO elements with standard 34-mil feed spacers. Furthermore, the improved fouling resistance results in a 50% lower normalized permeate flow rate decrease rate, leading to fewer cleaning requirements, chemical use, and plant downtime. Lastly, combined with the energy-saving membrane, the BW 400 ES L product operates with up to 35% lower pressure loss for excellent RO plant efficiency and uptime.
